Cosplay at Buhay Coke Party

As most of you know, I don't have issues with dressing up or looking like an ass on photos or videos. So, when I heard about the Buhay Coke Party and that Aileen Apolo encourages people to dress up as angels or devils (as shown on Coke Zero's latest TV ad), I immediately thought of putting together a costume. I wore all black - except my perfect big-ass white wings. I combined the two to dress up as a fallen angel.

I actually went to great lengths in procuring my angel wings. I scoured three malls - I thought I'd get lucky and find a costume shop, but I didn't find any. I'm unfortunate like that. The only way I could think of was to go to Divisoria, where they sell anything and everything! I was ready to get mugged, kicked in the face, or even raped - we all know how impossible that is.

I was there at Divisoria with my friend, looking for a costume shop and minding my own business when several MMDA people started running after a whole lot of vendors. Plus more than ten people were trying to relocate this huge police station so everything was a mess and the vendors were all in chaos. We decided our lives were more important and headed to the other side of Divisoria.

As we crossed the street - LO AND BEHOLD, we saw wings of different sizes, shapes and colors! We hurriedly went inside the shop and asked if they had white angel wings. Unfortunately, they ran out of those so the owner showed us every type and color of wings they have. The awesome ones were too expensive, ranging from 800PHP to 1200PHP. They suggested I wear this Piolo-Clearmen-ad-type-of-wings they had, but it had brown feathers.

"Manong, gusto ko po maging angel. Ayoko maging manok," I scolded the owner.

I brought home white butterfly wings for 250PHP and 4 pieces of stringed feathers for 60PHP each.

STEP ONE

Get glue or any form of adhesive, scissors and pluck off the feathers.

STEP TWO

Glue them onto the frame. Don't use glue gun though (too hot, it'll melt your frame).

STEP THREE

Wear with PIZZAZZ. LOL!

Here are more photos from different people like Fritz, Micamyx and Juned.

The party was kickin' with overflowing beer, coke zero, food, and magic. I was too busy talking, dancing and posing for photos though so I wasn't that excited about the alcohol like I usually am. Thanks Coke, SM Taste Asia at the Mall of Asia and Aileen Apolo for making this kick-ass party possible.
