HTC's Trade to Upgrade Promo

Are you tired of your boring mobile phone? Do you want to have features like having a high resolution touch screen, Wi-fi connectivity, 3.5 HSDPA, microSD expansion slot up to 16 GB all packed in your device? Well, I do! I was so excited when I saw HTC's Trade to Upgrade Promo at the Microsoft Web Ramp Up Developer Day yesterday at the SMX. If you haven't heard of HTC, they're a company which manufactures primarily Windows Mobile-based portable devices like smartphones. They own Dopod (XDA) as a subsidiary and designed the T-Mobile G1, also known as HTC Dream, the first phone in the market to run the Google-developed Android mobile device platform.

I'm a smartphone and a camera phone fan - I currently use a Nokia N82, a Sony Ericsson w760i and another ericsson phone from the company. I used to own some of these devices before I started to use the N82: Nokia e51, Nokia n78, XDA IIs (otherwise known as the HTC Blueangel), Palm Treo 650 and a Palm Zire 72.

You can trade in a working mobile phone or a non-working PDA/PDA phone and get a P5,000 discount on Touch 3G and Touch Vivaor a P10,000 discount on Touch HD and Touch Pro. *thanks for the correction, whoever you are. :)*

So, I'm thinking of trading in some of my old phones at home for some of these power-packed HTC smartphones:

Photoblog: Usagi-chan

Usagi-chan

Usagi-chan, our female cat when she was about a few weeks old. Usagi is a Japanese word for ‘rabbit’. She is a short-tailed feline who likes to hop and jump on our bed, thus the name.

We also called her Betty (from the TV series Betty la Fea) but that didn't work quite well.

Prom Booboos

February means many things for different people. It could mean a bouquet of flowers, candlelit dinner, star gazing or re-affirming vows - or on the opposite side of the spectrum, it could mean being hounded by relatives about being single or just realizing why Singles Awareness Day has SAD for an acronym.

For high school kids, it could spell PROM NIGHT DISASTER. Mine wasn't such a disaster, but it was like isang bulate na lang ang pipirma to make everything go absolutely wrong. So I made a list of things for girls- not to make your prom night perfect - but to prevent it from being first thing you remember when you're asked about the most embarassing moment of your life.

1. GOOD UNDERWEAR IS A MUST

Unless you want some major spillage, wear a bra that would really support your boobs. And, your mom might tell you to wear a freakin' girdle. SAY NO. Tell her you'd rather breathe than look good. You do, right?

2. WEAR A REAL DRESS.

Okay, you might ask me, how do I know if it's a real dress eh? Well, if your grandma (or anyone over 35 years old) handed you a piece of cloth and said, "Hey kiddo, I wore this to my wedding/pre-nup/graduation when I was in high school/college, I think you should wear this." - THEN YOU KNOW IT'S NOT A REAL DRESS. If your dress a couple of sizes smaller or larger, you shouldn't send it to the laundry shop because you think it'll shrink or get larger. And remember, if you have no boobs to speak of, don't bother wearing a dress with a strapless top. Accidents can - and will - happen so you might want to stock up on magic tape!

3. PROM IS NOT HALLOWEEN NIGHT

We all know that prom is not halloween or costume night. So, make sure you have your make-up done by a girl. Not that I discriminate on PLU's and guys, but sometimes, they just don't know how to put on make-up! When I was in junior high, my mom insisted that her gay friend put on my make-up, so I looked like a walking Chinese vampire in the middle of the day (our prom started 4 PM, it sucks, I know). Also, now that our mobile phones come with a camera, you can immediately take photos of your face so you'll know you won't be scaring them boys away.

4. DON'T GO CLUBBING

Puh-lease, don't unleash your prom shit all over the metro by bringing your ankle-length dress and over-the-top jewelry to clubs. Also, spit on your boyfriend's tux if he insists on taking you to a bar. Everyone thinks you've had enough dancing for one night! If you really really think you need to go clubbing, at least have the decency to change outfits.

5. DON'T CROSS-DRESS

I know y'all think being gay and loving rainbows is cool nowadays, but please, prom night is NOT the right time to look like a guy if you're a girl. Remember, use a damn blade to shave off your girl mustache! Also, shave your legs, people might mistake you for a kargador.

Have a great prom and don't expect your virginity to go away at the end of the night. :D
